WE have gone through Millau twice before the bridge was built.
One time we were just south of Clarmont Ferrand at a campsite and it was cold and raining in the morning.
We set off and it got colder as we climbed up onto the motorway. Then rain became snow and cars heading north were covered. We had to continue south as there were no turn offs. The conditions became near "whiteout" but then a big bright yellow Lorry came on in front of us.
We followed him for nearly 2 hours to Le Caylor to the south of the Millau Bridge.
Without that lorry we would have been the creek.
You will remember the drop down from the Plateau near Lodeve. Not only is it a bit WOW but the temperature shot up from 0-2 t0 19 in a few miles.
