I must have walked past your home many a time.
My dad and some of my siblings were born in the Quay. I was born in the family home in Nevilles Cross Road. The family moved back to the Quay in 1967, so, I remember the Quay when it was a very busy place, just like in this aerial view.
I remember as a small boy, walking with an adult in the twilight, up a partially demolished eerie-looking back lane of Hood Street, looking up at the huge, ominous, dark, empty buildings about me; I was so glad when we walked out through the arch and into the open.
