The following newspaper report shows that Mr. Todd was still the proprietor of the fruit business at St Kildas when he died:
Fruit merchant dies Merchant dies One Jarrow’s best known business men. Mr. Charles Lewis Todd, principal of Messrs. W. Todd and Sons Ltd., Wear Street. Jarrow, wholesale and retail fruit and vegetable merchants, has died suddenly the age 69. 10 April 1959 - Shields Daily News - Tynemouth, Northumberland, England.
Soon after Mr. Todd died, St Kildas was taken over by Reavleys:

Mac tells us that he thinks the warehouse – which was either on Wear Street or Grange Road West - sold potatoes; therefore, is it not possible, that one of Mr. Todd’s son’s, well-known fruit traders, ran their fruit merchant business from the warehouse? All we need is the proof.
