If they have a USB port check it’s for linking to PC or just for memory stick printing. Lots of various connections. I’m now up to date as bought my Cannon 2 years ago and then bought a similar model for Granddaughter last Xmas.
Bought them from PC World. Cost around £65 then.
Regarding photo printing. Most printers will print photos but! It’s the quality of the prints that count.
My feeling is that you may wish for a dedicated photo printer. My Cannon is really for day to day document printing but will do photos but the loading trays are not really that good for photo paper.
Any special photos that I want printed, like some of my old family photos from 1860 on, I am going to a specialist to scan and print them after colour correction. That’s a future project.
That my take on printers others may differ. But remember you only get what you pay for. A cheap printer costs a lot more for replacement inks.
Cannon seem to only sell a model for say 2 years and them replace it with a similar thing which uses different printer cartridges.
To be honest buying a new printer is a bit of a minefield.
