As a result I have been able to push back my family both Jackson & Campbell a further 2 generations.
I had part of the info. for a few years but had been unable get confirmation documents until now.
In the case of my Campbell family,I had my G G G G/M's Jean Campbell's Death Cert. stating that her parents were Daniel Campbell (a Tailor) & Margaret Gunn and her age as 67yrs. I had determined some years ago that the info given was not correct, being unable to "prove" it.
Using your "method" I was to determine that her age should have been 74 yrs (b. 1787) and her mothers name was Jannet Gunn. The "Margaret" I think may well have come from her elder sister Margaret (b. 1779).
It is possible that I may well be able to get back a further 3-4 generations through Jannet/Janet Gunn as there are Public Family Trees on the NET going way back.
I agree that these Trees can take you back into very grey areas that cannot really be confirmed/checked, but the fun is in the "hunt" and you never know.
Today I was at one of my Family History meetings in Ripon/ There were 22 of us there and I spoke for about 8-10 mins on this "method" and handed out a brief how I had used your info. I had only printed off 2 spare copies and they were snapped up, I should have took about 5 more copies.
I assume that my OLD way and your NEW way gives different results due to say "Glitches" in the software.
So thank you Barry for the info. and also for the load of work you have now given me as I will now have to go over all my OLD findings for every branch in my Family Tree.
