When serving my time in the Neptune yard and living in Hebburn 1976-1980 ,i traveled from Hebburn to Walker on the ferry . If I was asked to train or work in Hebburn my home town I was paid traveling expenses for 6 week that all.
On the subject of traveling in London I have a free oyster pass for underground buses and London overground trains I received my pass on my sixteenth birthday a blessing as the underground is so expensive .ps you can use the pass all times no waiting for off peak hours
