Notice in the article, that the Leslie drinking fountain was still on the wall when this issue was published in 1997.
Some said that it was taken for scrap, but, because of the low cost of cast iron I doubt any scrap man would have bothered taking it off the wall.
It seems to have been carefully removed, and my feeling is that someone ‘saved it’, and that it’s still in one piece somewhere. It would be a nice Christmas present if it was returned and put on display somewhere safe.
