Barry is continuing research which may shed more light on the subject and as I said before, me may yet come up with evidence of its continued existence even though we may never see it again. It would be quite a feather in Norman's hat for the truth to be revealed on his website. I look forward to that possibility.
Just one more point. I have been involved with attempts to save old building structures in the not too distant past. There is plenty of evidence available to show that Grade II listed structures have been destroyed, by fire for instance, that have the effect of freeing up the land for housing development. Those shipyard buildings have been set on fire on a number of occasions and the fountain has been removed. That is why the land and its structures are no longer protected by Grade II Listing. However, I wouldn't want anyone to think that I am against house building.
