I saw that there are very few entries around 1820-30ís.
Prior to 1829 it maybe not possible to be a Catholic Church member. Just cannot get back to the info.
Out of 4 children only one ( the youngest) of the 4 was registered at a Catholic Church. 1829 St. Maryís in Greenock with birth being in Dumbarton.
None of the other 3 have their births registered as far as I can find. The father was from Ireland but I didnít think that Campbell was a Catholic surname. Yes Campbellís would have gone to Ireland to live and some family returned back to Scotland.
Could it be that the parents did not wish the 3 children to be baptised in any church other than a Catholic Church so didnít have them baptised.
I know that the RC Church had lots of changes in Scotland from the 1560 etc. There appears to have been different forms of Catholic Church in Scotland 1560ís to 1850ís.
Any suggestions where to look please.
