Thing is, people complain loads more when something is taken away, but I look at the whole picture. For example, I will get my state pension when I'm 66, instead of 65, so I've "lost" a whole year's pension compared to many. If the ratio of one year of state pension to the cost of a TV licence is relatively constant over the years, then by receiving one year extra pension from 65, this might cover about 50 years of TV licence for me, but I'm not complaining as I know the rules already.
