I think this is a great help, but I'm still slightly perplexed.
I'm checking on Thomas Welsh born ~1856 in Ireland and his son Thomas Welsh born ~1879 in Walker. 1891 census has them as "Walsh" in Collins Lane, but no house number. Family of 8 and 4 Irish boarders.
The 1901 Census has them at 31 Collins Street, as a family of 9 now and with 2 Irish boarders. So do we take this to be the same road as the 1891 Census?
A Thomas Welsh signs Attestation papers in 1900 stating his age as 21, birthplace as Walker, and occupation as labourer all of which just about fits with the census's. His home address is 32 Collins Lane.
I'm presuming this is the same person, but.....
