I would imagine that when the first Hebburn Hall was built, the stone would have been taken from close by.
Where they got the stone from will probably be the Dene.
Why transport heavy stone from long distances when we had sandstone a few feet under us. All along the length of Hadrian's Wall are small quarries where the stone came from for the wall.
Shame you cant take a photo Trish cos its years since I was in the Park.
