My daughter noticed that because so many folk are at home, that cars from the main roads of surrounding areas that do not have parking, were blocking up both sides of her street; she was worried that emergency vehicles might not be able to get through.
At least once a week, for months, an ambulance has been called with flashing lights to an old lady’s house on the street; when this happens, at least one driver on the other side of the street parks opposite the ambulance and blocks the street.
My daughter was concerned that many other streets in the district could be blocked due to the extra transport; so, a few days ago she contacted the local Council (NWLDC) and informed them about the problem, and asked if they could possibly make the car parks free for the duration of Covid-19.
My daughter has not yet received a reply, but has learned through local media, that the Council car parks in the whole of NWLDC are all free from today. My daughter's street has suddenly become less congested.
