Frankly all the T & C's for that Insurer even those taken last year have a clause in them which seeks to avoid responsibility where HMG issues "do not travel" advice.
Who sold you that policy. Did they explain that clause to you?
I think that it is a very poor policy. Do I suspect that you didnt read the small print?
When this is all over I think that you might consider a claim that you were mis-sold but I am not confident that you would win.
You might try googling Insura Trip reviews here https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/insuratrip.com but it will not make you happy.
Wait a little while and see if your tour operator comes up with a decent alternative. Were they ABTA/ATOL.
Did you pay by credit card. You may have a claim?
Sorry I couldnt come up with anything too positive but if it were me I would be raising the roof with my MP, The Insurance watchdog and anybody else I could think of.
