I managed to travel at between 5 to 6 mph others passing at maybe 10-12. Back down 22-27 mph.
Itís a long climb and near the top you can see for miles over the Wolds and N York Moors and a way to the south east.
I read an item either in the papers or on BBC that cycle shops are having a bit of a boom time.
One said that they normally sell 20-30 bikes a week but recently they have been selling 50 per day.
Their workshop is over run with work as people go to get out their old bike and find its needs new tyres, cables, brake blocks etc. The people say they donít want to use public transport to get to work and the fine weather is a bonus.
The downside is that a lot are not as good riders as they used to be, not as road wise.
My son said this morning that you can spot the not so good coming out of junctions without looking etc. Heís driving around the NE every day for what was the Milk Marketing Board.
