She reported it to the bank - they verified the theft, replaced the money into her account and cancelled her card.
Today, she received a notification from Microsoft, saying that at 4.40am this morning there had been some unusual activity with her account; on checking, she found that someone had hacked her Hotmail account and changed the password; then, somehow, they signed into her Instagram account, changed that password, and then hacked her Netflix, Amazon and Instagram accounts, also changing those passwords.
It took her a long while to get back into her accounts (she had to mobile the companies to get access - answering a lot of questions), and eventually, she has regained control of her devices and has changed her passwords, etc.
But, what did the hackers copy? and what might they do in the future with the information they hacked? They had access to my daughter’s private e-mails, e-mail contacts and much more.
Identity theft is an awful worry.
The hackers are awfully, clever devils.
And, yes, she will be reporting this to the Police.
