Re: why would a newly married man take family to Prussia 1868/9/70
Itís seems very unlikely that a newly married couple would upsticks and move to Prussia without there being a job available for George.
I wonder that recruiters came to England looking for men.
If George was at the time a skilled colliery winder they could have required men like him to operate winding gear as they sunk pit shafts and for the mine when it opened. He would have had to train Prussians.
The Franco- Prussian war may have had some bearing on it, lack of Prussian men but who knows.
