Re: Removal of Statues - In particular Greys Monument
the king of the Belgian Congo statue has been removed in Bruges, the tribal conflicts across Africa as in so many countries including Britain going back in history often made slaves of captors, but when tribal chiefs sold their own people a new market opened in Europe, what has to be remembered is that Arab countries almost certainly dealt in slaves before the Europeans. Slaves were initially taken by raiding parties but trading was easier and probably more profitable on both sides. Nevertheless no person should own another.
