Re: Mobile shops in Hebburn 1950s
Ok. The fish round in a van and not the horse and cart was actually owned by Jimmy Houston who travelled all over including Felling, and the fruit and veg van was run by Norman Danby. The Co-op breadvan which was red in colour was run by a man called Jimmy. I am not 100% certain but I'm sure Jessie and Reuben Warwick had a mobile shop as well as the shop in Birtwistle Avenue. Eddy will know if I'm right.I can still see the mobile shop which was white in colour..
