Re: felling pubs
Just a few alan, The Ship at Felling Shore opposite the Zinc Oxide Factory, known in my younger days as Ralphie's. The Green Tree Inn next to the co-op at Felling Shore. The Brandling and another old pub was the Mulberry. The Malting house. The Fox. The Railway. The Wheatsheaf. The Half Way House (Now Flats) The Beeswing (named after a famous race horse from the 1800s as was the Blinkbonney). There was another very old pub down Heworth Burn lane past where the Maiden Over used to be. Can't remember its name but I do remember someone had a pet monkey nearby. It was tethered to a post with a chain. I got too close once and it bit me on my thigh - yea, very close thing indeed. It'll cost you sixpence to see the scars.
