You are correct John,it was a sweet shop a lady called Ann FIONDA had it,one of the Italian ferternity who had the ice cream shops in the Quay.When I was about 10 year old I used to do messages for her, clean her shop windows,I came home in Tyne sreet with a big bag of sweets who I shared with my twin brother.Ann was a lovely lady,all the Fiondas were nice people,the men JOE ,Tony,Lewis,all had ice cream shops in the Quay, JOE had a bike with the two big wheels at the front fitted with a ice box odd times in the summer months would let me peddle his ice cream and home made ice lollies,i did keep away from the likes of Ellison st Ann fiondas daughter Carol and her husband are good friends of mine here in scarborough we some times talk about old hebburn especially the Quay.nice little story.happy days tb .
