Just exchanged 1000 euros for £ and put in our bank.
The best thing about using a card is controlling cash flow.
At the end of the month we can check our expenditure. Although we do check On Line every week where we are £ wise. Itís like employing an accountant.
We always pay off the bill at the end so no charges added.
In most cases itís the little items that all mount up to a high bill.
If we were to use cash all the time we would have no control over expenditure unless it was noted down each time.
I donít mind spending £ but it grinds on me if I had £50 in wallet and spent it without knowing what it had been spent on !
Using a card could actually save you money in the long run as you could cut out wasteful expenditure.
However both Ann & I worked with £ when at work. Ann in financial services and me as an estimator, so accounting is just a natural to us.
My biggest £ waste is cycling mags. Which could be £15 - £20 per month. Stopped that now.
Remember itís all the small items that run away with the £.
