Thatís right Eddy the poss tub was used for boiler suits etc. People I think were reluctant to get rid of them when the new washing machines came out ? Twin Tubs ? However it depended if you had enough room for both. Those that had a wash house were ok like the new council houses in the Crawley Ave. area..
These new council houses were far bigger than the private house built just before WW11. We lived in 16 Crawley Ave. and mumís sister lived in Branton Ave.
