Re: Panto's or lack of them this year
Brian you've just reminded me of the Palace Theatre in the Haymarket Newcastle with the 1950s pantomimes. It was there I saw Danny Willis who made the barbershop quartet doing the Hunting song where he got knocked all over the place. There was also Tyneside's own Barry sisters and the young dancing girls known as the Rosalyn babes. You also mentioned the Theatre Royal. There isn't a finer building in Newcastle. The man who designed the interior was called Frank Matcham and he was also responsible for The Tower Ballroom at Blackpool!
