The State Government here in NSW bought train carriages from Korea that don't fit the existing tunnels or platforms, answer? spend millions and some years to widen the tunnels and adjust the platforms. They recently bought 10 new ferries from Indonesia that are too tall for some bridges, answer? no one allowed to sit on the top deck while the ferries are running on the Parramatta River. The moral of story is Build and buy Local it's not that hard. It may be cheaper buying overseas but any major project that is for the good of the country should be done locally to support industry and jobs.
