Re: American Civil War
Having checked the statistics of the cholera epidemic 1831 to 1845 I'm wondering if these men were the victims when 2000 people were wiped out in Newcastle alone. Also looking at the picture of the headstone of John Prendergast it certainly looks like limestone but looking at it in closer detail it looks more cast and the lettering quality give that away. You only have to look at the middle of the letter A or P. There are also signs of polishing out marks. I only wish I could get up there to have a proper look because I would have it worked out in seconds.
