Firstly, you could try the following:

Then, right-click on the problematic file, left-click on PROPERTIES, left-click on the PREVIOUS VERSIONS tab at the top. If previous versions appear in the box, then restore the best one, though itís possible that no previous versions will appear, depending on how you have your PC set up.
If it is a Word document, I wonder if you saved it in a different format than the original (updated your Word document?) and if itís just a simple case of opening the document and saving it back into the original format.

Itís possible that you accidentally saved your document as something like XPS Document; if you open your document in Word and save it as the original Ė probably ĎWord Documentí at the top of the list, it might sort itself.
