Re: Supermarket sweep!
I read a very good article about Taiwan, if you wished to enter any building accessible to the public, your temperature is taken , if its raised you are denied access, masks are worn. It has a very low fatality rate and is now getting back to normality. We went to a restaurant in Newcastle that did exactly the same. They are now subject to the 10pm curfew along with the places that weren't as fastidious. The 10pm curfew is causing more problems than its preventing. Closing everywhere at the same time creates problems of congregating of people trying to get home or heading to supermarkets for alcohol on the way home. The pub and restaurant closing times tend to
be staggered as different premises would close at different times and people would go home at different times. This is creating a financial impact to businesses and a lot won't survive because of this seemingly knee jerk reaction. It's also perpetuating problems with people who have gone for a quiet night out, I honestly don't think this measure will make any difference other can sending more businesses to the wall.
