Liz, I have a singer electric sewing machine bought by my grandfather in 1933. It is a table top model and I must get Barry to put this on the archives too! Since 1933 it has made countless dresses and curtains and not forgetting lots of alterations to garments. I contacted Singer a while back and give them the serial number. I was shocked to find out it was my grandfather who bought it and what he paid for it 33 guineas a lot of money in those days. The best thing about it Liz is that it still uses the original needle and has the original light bulb in it still working. It also has the original instruction manual!
