Having been out and about for the last 30 days in the boarders we are concerned about the amount of potentially unhealthy people mainly overweight and some Wow! The age of these people is getting younger !.
Today I am wearing a T shirt that I bought in Kirkwall, Orkney in around 1990 itís still a very good fit ( could do with loosing 5-7 lbs) itís my yardstick. How this T shirt plus another have lasted all these years being worn every week over that time, have lasted.
My main health problem is with the left leg following a hip replacement in 2015 ish. That opn. Disturbed the various muscles in thigh and my activities, cycling etc. Throws a lot of strain on left leg. Maybe I am lucky in being reasonably fit ( not that I think so) for that I thank Mr Byers at Clegga who got me into running as I detested Football. Never very fast but more a distance runner.
When I started Scuba Diving I had to change my running to more strength work to cope with the weight of the tanks and weight belts and swimming using Fins is a complete change.
As the years went on the dive gear became heavier ( up about 50%). Due to dry suits. Diving to deeper depths required a greater level of fitness.
So today I would think that I am at about 30% of my fitness at its peak, the dreaded AGE.
Please try to keep as fit as you can plenty walking each day is a great help 2 miles if you can. Work up to it then against the clock. A few hills will help. The walking around your home can all add up add a bit of stretching etc.
Just do a bit every day and in a couple of weeks you will see the improvement.
