The bridge had marking on it as if it had been inspected in recent years. OK the road let to a big farm and hamlet.
Yesterday I crossed a railway bridge near Chathill with a 3 tonne limit not far from the main line north. This bridge looked in bad need of a lot of TLC. The old track bed below was flooded. The track had run into Seahouses yonks ago.
Who is responsible for old tracks and bridges etc.
Old Coal mines is the NCB, if it still exists, responsible for old workings. The amount of old workings under Hebburn must be very large and are quite deep and all flooded I understand.
