Hebburn UDC screwed itself in pretending to be prepared to build its own lines to join up with Shields and Gateshead.
The Jarrow line owned privately by BET had operated successfully with the lines in Shields.
The Jarrow operation terminated just over the lines on Albert Road/Vic Rd, just inside the Jarrow boundary with Hebburn, where there used to be the final stop. The pole was still there in the fifties.
