The South of England get the best weather, and the further north you go it gets a bit colder. The North West ie Manchester & Liverpool get a lot of rain.
We never know what kind of summer we will get. Everyone our age still remembers the summer of 1976 when we got Mediteranian weather for weeks and weeks.
Recently, every morning that Ive opened the bedroom blinds, the ground has been wet. Today its the same again, wet and windy. Tourists dont come to the UK for the weather. They come because its a beautiful country like you see on Vera, and full of History.
Historic buildings are all around us . We can go to Jarrow where your ancestors lived and visit St Paul's Church where Saint Bede lived at the Monastery in the 600s. We have the 'Arbeia' Roman Fort at South Shields, another at Wallsend called 'Segedunum' across the river from Hebburn. We have Hadrians Wall that stretched 50 odd miles across the country and there are still sections of it still there. Loads of history for anyone that is interested but it might rain for their whole. holiday.
