I do like a bit of Cod or haddock but 7 % 10 times donít think much of it. Fish and chips from the supposedly top fish shops around us are ? One problem is if we buy some we have 7 miles to carry them home or 8 miles from one shop, that we have just found.
I now prefer frozen fish bought from the likes of Asda etc.
Yes I would love fish and chips bought near the fish Quay but itís 20 odd years since I was there.
Then the chips, they can be good of more often than not just alright or poor.
As tastes change I much prefer Salmon which Ann cooks.
Maybe the problem with fish and chips is the cooking. If you get to the shop when everything is freshly cooked it does taste better.
Regretfully Fish and chips is now rarer in our house as we are usually disappointed.
If we could get some at South Shields beach and eat it there Iím sure it would be better. But spending about I think £15.00 for 2 and being disappointed puts us off.
So where can you get the best fish and chips on Tyneside and weíll give it a try hopefully next year.
