The Wharf Butcher - Michael K Foster
Posted by George on November 20, 2020, 9:10 pm
Following my hero's recommendation (alan la ruste), I have just finished reading The Wharf Butcher. The book comprises of 55 short chapters and just the thing for my insomnia. Initially the book moved well taking me through various places on Tyneside (even Felling) where horrendous events took place. Then, part way through. it became a tutorial on how a ratchet works. Each time I finished one chapter - I had to rewind to recap what had happened the previous night. I thought it would never end. It has but I think I will have to start again as I have no idea what it was all about. Funny, but I feel as if I have already read it ten times. However, that is me and fiction. I hope everyone else loves it.
