Happy 2021 everyone. I've never known a quieter New Year apart from Fireworks going off. I have always first footed and that was the 51st time and there was no one else out. My Scottish granda used to wake all his kids up to celebrate Hogmanay.Its so different today, no Ships horns going on the river.
In the old days everyone was on the move going around family and neighbours wishing Happy New Year and a drink in every house you visited.
To cheer us up here is a nice photo taken from the little cut from Monkton Village to the Windermere Cres estate. One of my Board Admins, Barrie Mortimer lived just yards from this view in Monkton Village
