The building with the garage outline was my first clue. For decades it had been an amusement arcade, (see old photo). Then part of it became Haugh's Radio shop after they had vacated their Sunderland Road premises near the tram sheds. This was much later in the 1950s. Then Haugh's closed and the building became a bigger arcade before finally being demolished along with everything else the council could lay their hands on.
