My initial thought was that a light bulb was on the way out.
I quickly determined that it was the switch a single “one way”.
Changed it the following morning.
This is the third switch change since 2009 when the particular switch installed to cater for the downstairs toilet and shower room ( handy if I come in all clarted up or sweaty.)
The Toilet and shower to one side and to the other are the heating boiler and the washing and tumble drier.
Due to the multi use of the room the light switch gets used more that any other in the house. It could well be 50 on/off switches each day in winter as we manually operated the heating system until it was serviced in November.
The boiler has had faults since 2009. A chase your tail type thing. Our new boiler man is a whizz. Having found 3 items that were dodgy over the last year.
Getting back to the light switch. The original was a toggle switch and the toggle became loose with wear. The replacement was a standard type switch which started arcing again through use.
I had a replacement toggle switch in the shed 😅
So I suggest that you have a spare for the most used light switch in your house but I doubt that you will have a one that is as heavily used as our “boiler room”
Oh aye it’s just started heavy snow 30 mins later than forecast.
