I am not a follower of Boris Johnson but he has my sympathy, as has all the world leaders who are in the same boat…they hardly know where to turn. Why? Because they are all surrounded by so called ‘experts’ who offer differing opinions/advise and bombarded by ‘non experts’ who trash all attempts to get us out of this mess.
Just try this little puzzle. There are two extremes that could be adopted in the fight against this virus. At one end, we could ‘do absolutely nothing’ and let Covid take its toll and at the other end we could go for ‘total lockdown'. The former is unthinkable and the latter impossible so, the correct course of action lies somewhere between the two. Now will someone stand up and tell me exactly what that course of action should be?
We all have our personal or collective ideas as to the best way forward but step forward the man or woman who would care to stand in Boris Johnson’s shoes and listen to the wolf pack that is baying for his blood whilst he is trying to make the best of all the advice that is being poured over his head. These are dark hours but we must support him just as much as we support those NHS heroes who are fighting the battle with an ever-decreasing circle of wagons. Their struggle is not in vain and the Covid Cavalry are just coming over the hill with a way to save the day. Yes, the newly arrived vaccines must surely be the ultimate answer to this killer in our midst.
