Thank you Barry. St. Paul's has a wealth of hidden history but as I said on an earlier thread I am still researching the history in-depth but cannot continue at the moment due to the virus. There is a strong link between St Hilda's Hartlepool,Escomb, Monkwearmoth etc but that is because of the Romans leaving the area and enough stones to build churches! You are Indeed correct about stained glass which is in a window high up on the south wall at St. Paul's. When you mention West Hartlepool I am somewhat bewildered because most church pews in the northeast came from George Clarke around 1888. The very strange fact is is that according to to Kelly's directories of 1888 Clark was only at timber Importer and not a pew Builder. As you know Barry I am slowly uncovering hidden history about st. Paul's and it will be interesting when we reach the end!
