The odd thing Barry is that a lot of churches from Hartlepool to Tyneside have Clarke as a pew builder listed in their history. I do know he got the timber from the Baltic and have lists of the tonnage and even the ship names but I suspect he moved it by rail to Tyneside because of the lengths, some being 20ft as in St.Aloysius in Hebburn. Maybe one day Barry I will get to the bottom of it all!
