Margaret, I have used Patient Access for a number of years, can’t remember how it all started. When you open up an account you are given a unique patient access number, then you have to have a password, I have access to making doctors appointments and ordering medication so this must refer back to my doctor’s surgery. About 2 months ago Patient Access decided to ‘beef’ up the security when signing in, I had to create a unique name, then I was asked create a prompt in case I couldn’t remember the unique name, so far so good, I use the system once a month.

My husband has his own patient access account, he uses a different email address to me.

I think to begin with you need to contact your doctors surgery, by the way when ordering a new prescription you are asked where you want to pick up the prescription, usually I use the doctors surgery but last year when I was spending time up in the north east I was able to arrange for my prescription to be ready at Boots in the Metro and also the local pharmacy in Pelaw, I thought that was quite good.
