Barry, I have a copy of this document and it's history yes fantastic. I've always liked the Lych gate there. Lych Gates came into being in Anglo Saxon times when monks had to travel to a church to conduct a service. The congregation could take shelter under it when the weather was bad. I know also that Lych is some Scandinavian origin relating to a corpse so the name may be linked to a funeral waiting for the monks to arrive..
