GEORDIE HUMOUR
At the height of the Gulf War, the expertise of Red Adair (that well known fire fighter) was called upon to go to the Gulf and put out the oil rig fires. On his way his plane landed at Newcastle Airport for an overnight stop. Red took advantage of the stop over to visit the Toon. As he went into a bar on the quayside, Geordie noticed him and said to Charlie,
“Isn’t that Red Adair?”
Charlie replied, “Nah ah divvent think so.”
Geordie then said, “Ah’m sure it is and ah’m so sure ah’ll bet ye a pint if ah’m wrang.”
Charlie said, “Alreet yor on.”
They both went over to Red and Geordie asked him, “Are ye red Adair?” To which Red said he was.
Geordie said, “Are ye still dancing with Ginger Rogers?”
