I remember the name around the Empire cinema being The Empire Royal so I said it Ihe wrong way round.,I don't recall tthe theatre in Jarrow just The Picture house cinemaThe Dawe brothers were devastated when the Theatre Royal in Hebburn was accidently burned down,.they built the Rex in later years as a family business..it has since been demolished.
