Re: Bbc1"
A very good film although loose on fact at times, Stan and Ollie stayed at the Royal Station Hotel and played at the Empire Theatre, they did appear at the Queens Hall (it became the Queens cinema) but purely as a promotional appearance. The tour also started in Ireland not Newcastle. Nobby Clark was a fictional addition and Stan never worked with anyone else after Ollies decline in health, Ollie died after a succession of strokes in August 1957 despite losing close to 100 pounds in weight on his doctors advise due to his heart condition. Stan died in February 1965 unknown to him he was suffering from cancer when he died 4 days after a heart attack. While we can see their films via dvd and on tv and online they will continue to make us smile and laugh, their genius continues to entertain us..
