Monday's Header of the original Lord Nelson

The header today shows the very first Lord Nelson in Monkton Village and its Landlady Mrs Thompson. It was demolished probably in the 1920s and replaced with the building that is still there today.The photo was kindly sent to me by the late Irene Gargett nee Handyside who was brought up in the Village. Her family lived at 'High Farm' in the 1890s.
