Optomatrists etc for Sheila
They are different things Sheila. The High St shops are usually opticians, then there are optometrists and opthamalmologists. My pal was an consultant eye surgeon....we always took the mickey by calling him an optician....he pretended not to care!!
That is why I knew the difference.
Here is a description I downloaded.....
An optometrist is an eye doctor that can examine, diagnose, and treat your eyes. An ophthalmologist is a medical doctor who can perform medical and surgical interventions for eye conditions. An optician is a professional who can help fit glasses, contact lenses, and other vision-correcting devices
