Wish I could have got my first jab , booked today at the Centre for life . Gave myself plenty of time setting off from Amble to drive into Newcastle but could I heck find a parking space. Drove around for nearly an hour watching the clock ticking away .All the parking places I knew ,like the Strawberry Place one , fenced off for close by contruction, Clairmont Road ,no spaces except for permit holders, no parking outside the RVI now. I seemed to be darting in and out of Bus lanes and one of the multi-storey parking places I knew seemed to have a NO Cars sign by the side of the road. That was it , I gave up and returned home .Waste of a morning and 2 gallon of fuel .I thought I was doing the right thing by going to Newcastle instead of waiting till my local Health Centre got in touch , but how wrong was I .Wont be doing that again , if they dont get in touch then I wont be having a jab ,simple as that. What a mess Newcastle is now, two way roads now one way , some blocked off, roads disaperaing into bus lanes. I ditched Newcastle many ,many years ago and now just go to the Metro Centre ,so this was my first vist by car in years , it will be the last.
