A lot of housing gone. I’m unfamiliar with the type and quality of those houses now flattened.

I remember that a lot of years ago, up in Newcastle a lot of streets were put up for sale at 50p per house, maybe in the Benwell area.

Most were sold I think and still stand today.

Is my memory correct, if so was the quality of those houses better than those in Jarrow to make them worth saving.
